Process: The Ferrari 250 gto

PROCESS 4

Then, I start to create some detail of the front. 
Firstly, I need a template. I find a NDF, draw the shape on it.


I use this tool to cut through it. 




After that, I use this tool to sand the inside. 

The tool is not deep enough to sand inside.  Then, I change to the sanding machine. It was work well.




I cutting the big NDF. 





I mark the shape on the aluminium.
 I use the tool to holding the aluminium piece and NDF template. 



I also find a shape hammer to hit it. I find that it is similar with the Blister.

PRPOCESS 3

I find a tracing paper, and cover it on the car. Also I mark every tuning point. 

Then, I use knife to cut the tracing paper on top of the aluminum piece. Then, I use mark. 

Then, I use this two tools to curve both sides.






The both sides getting curves and looks great.



Then, the aluminium already curves to two ways.

PROCESS 2

This week, I can really start to hit the aluminium piece. Firstly, I curved the aluminium. 

The aluminium piece was too big. I decide to cut it, so that I can fit the aluminium into the car to check. 


After I cut it, I realize the front shape is more like a 90 degree. So, I bend it.  




















Unfortunately, it broken. Also, I shouldn't bend it. The front shape is more like a bowl we done before, the front shape is curve to both sides and down. 






So, I got another aluminium piece. I redo it.

Process: The Ferrari 250 gto

PROCESS 1


Getting start: 


We clean up the laser cut file in AutoCAD and Indesign. We also decided to cut in  7*15 slices. It is easier to find out the roughly shape.      




The pieces just like the puzzle. Because there are only 7*15 pieces, we can easily put together.




Then, we should find out the shape from the waffle. In this stage, the waffle car was not showing the contour of car. So, we use masking tape to stick on the waffle car.


We separate it to different section. Each person do one part of the car. My part is front of car.



Each of us, have a piece of paper. I cover the paper on the front part. Then, I trace the shape on paper. I got a piece of aluminium, cutting the aluminium following the shape I draw out on the paper,
